The Story of Madrid (cont'd):

By 1998, Carl, now a talented keyboard player and technology maven, was writing beat-driven, melodic pop songs in a closet he shared with his kid's Barbie and Spiderman toys.  Over the years, Lou, while trying to keep many a drum-machine out of business, had written and accumulated a collection of poems that caught Carl's eye.  But it was lyrics Carl needed, not poems.  After a brotherly wrestling match, Lou was out of the poem business and in the song lyric business.

When you combine melodies that you can't help singing and dancing to, with straightforward, introspective lyrics, you've got Madrid.

Within 2 years the new millennium saw the brothers back together again with Madrid's debut CD, What Are You Waiting For?, that had their family and friends rockin' to the new sound.  Produced by Dean Bailin, one-time guitarist for Rupert Holmes, What Are You Waiting For?, is a collection of songs with definite rock n' roll roots that would keep any European nightclub dancing all night long.

In the late 70's New Wave came along to save rock music.  Now, Madrid has come on to the scene to breathe new life into pop music.
